Fall Defender College is a special program designed for assistant public defenders with less than 18 months of experience. This intensive training course takes up where law school left off, giving in-depth answers to basic questions and personalized attention.  The course will feature both large group lecture sessions and small group practice sessions.  All attendees will receive materials for study and preparation prior to the program, and should be prepared to start trial on Monday morning. All attendees are to arrive each morning dressed for court and ready to work. The small group sessions consist of eight assistant public defenders and two group leaders.

48 Assistant Public Defenders are invited with slots assigned to each Circuit on the number of participants allowed. 12 Group leaders attend that are experienced Assistant Public Defenders. These group leaders also serve as speakers for the lectures we have. Then they break off 2 per group to provide feedback in small group sessions.
